Characteristics of the main directions of scientific and research work of the L-9 Department:

The main directions of the department's scientific and research work are situated in the following thematic areas: rock mass mechanics; foundations, consolidation of subsoil (soil); designing the foundations of structures on weak soils in complex geological and engineering conditions, designing the stabilization and elimination of the effects of landslides on communication routes and urbanized areas, testing anthropogenic materials and designing waste dumps, performing test loads on piles and measuring deformation of structures and building ground, assessing the impact of rheological factors and thermal and humidity changes in concrete structural and hydrotechnical massifs, problems of air-tightness and soil liquefaction effects in hydrotechnical earthwoks, construction issues in the revalorization of historic buildings, mathematical modeling of geotechnical structures, optimization issues in the mechanics of engineering structures; static and strength issues of thin-walled structures; destruction mechanics, propagation of cracks in media with microdamages; statics and dynamics of non-standard composite materials.
